Collets designed for a Sapphire and Diamond bracelet.

Designed using DeskArtes Design Expert software.

A bracelet was constructed using collet settings, designed for a series of marquise Sapphires. We producing the initial pattern on the computer and then copied the designs, adjusting the dimensions to suit each group of stone settings.

The CAD files were then converted into an STL format, this converts the surface of the models into a group of tiny triangles to enable the wax reproduction to take place. In this case the wax patterns were produced using a Sanders Rapid Prototyping process, (basically, the machine builds up layers of wax on a bed to produce the model.) The waxes were then trimmed, sprued, invested and cast using the lost wax casting process.
