This is an optional Import Package for DeskArtes Expert Series 7.1. It cannot be run as separate program, but works only when installed on top of one of the DeskArtes Expert Series 7.1 base packages:

Note: To be able to run the translators a separate license code needs to be ordered from DeskArtes.

The Import package contains import translators for the following CAD file formats:

Installation instructions for the Import Package

  1. Copy the self extracting package "daimportpkg71-b.exe" to your hard disk.
  2. Start the installation by double clicking "daimportpkg71-b.exe". Press "Finish" to continue the installation.
  3. Read the copyright text and the license agreement carefully before continuing.
  4. Select the Directory where the corresponding Expert Series 7.1 base package (3Data Expert® 7.1, Design Expert 7.1, Render Expert 7.1 or View Expert 7.1) is installed.
  5. Use "Typical" setup type to install all the translators or "Custom" to select those you want to be installed.
  6. The setup is completed. Select "Finish" to quit.
  7. New import file formats are then found in the open file dialog of the Expert Series programs from the base package.

Installing licenses for the Import Package translators

  1. Save the license file ".lic" to your hard disk.
  2. Start the HostID license tool by double clicking "hostid.exe" in the Expert Series 7.1 base package installation directory.
  3. Press the "Browse/Install"-button in the HostID tool.
  4. Select the Directory where the license file was saved and then the license file ".lic".
  5. Press the "Open"-button.
  6. If the "License Installed in"-dialog is shown, the installation is successfully completed.
  7. Exit the HostID license tool from the upper right corner close-icon.
