This is an optional Import Package for DeskArtes Expert Series 8.0. It cannot be run as separate program, but works only when installed on top of one of the DeskArtes Expert Series 8.0 base packages:

Note: To be able to run the translators a separate license code needs to be ordered from DeskArtes.

The Import package contains import translators for the following CAD file formats:

Installation instructions for the Import Package

  1. Copy the self extracting package "ImportPackageforESSetup.exe" to your hard disk.
  2. Start the installation by double clicking "ImportPackageforESSetup.exe". Press "Next" to continue the installation.
  3. Read the copyright text and the license agreement carefully before continuing.
  4. Select the Directory where the corresponding Expert Series 8.0 base package (3Data Expert® 8.0, Dimensions Expert 8.0 or  View Expert 8.0) is installed.
  5. The setup is completed. Select "Finish" to quit.
  6. New import file formats are then found in the open file dialog of the Expert Series programs from the base package.

Installing licenses for the Import Package translators

  1. First install the hostide.exe tool. The installation package DATAKITHOSTID.exe is found in the directory DatakitHostid under the Expert Series program installation directory (for example the default for 3Data Expert is "C:\Program Files\DeskArtes 3Data Expert 8.0").
  2. Save the license file ".lic" to your hard disk.
  3. Then start the hostid.exe from Windows start menu DATAKIT > Host ID License Manager.
  4. Press the "Browse/Install"-button in the HostID tool.
  5. Select the Directory where the license file was saved and then the license file ".lic".
  6. Press the "Open"-button.
  7. If the "License Installed in"-dialog is shown, the installation is successfully completed.
  8. Exit the HostID license tool from the upper right corner close-icon.
