3Data Expert Changes from 7.1 to 8.0

The 3Data Expert version 8.0
includes several major changes to the software, including new data
structures, viewing, selection and coloring commands, among other things:
- New
workflow and
Tools Window for frequently used commands allow the most efficient
repair, coloring and printing of correct great looking models.
- New
Help Text window in the Fix Model Tab with mostly used repair commands
makes model repair easy even to infrequent users of the software.
- New menu structure to
support the triangulate - fix shells - combine shells - color - split
(hollow) workflow intuitively by Modify Surfaces, Fix Models, Modify
Faceted, Colors and Textures and Print Preparation menus.
- New viewing functionality
allows free viewing from any direction and a new simple mouse interaction
for selecting objects and rotating the view with the mouse and new
keyboard shortcuts.
- Separate error filtering
levels for different model accuracy requirements.
- Fully new coloring and
texturing commands for faceted models provide tools for easy and efficient
model coloring.
- Full support to ZPR file
format and color/texture display with 3D Color Printer mode.
- New functions, like Check
Thin Walls, to check if the model can be build reliably.
- New functions for manual
repair, like Join Gaps, Flip Triangle Normals and Flip Selection Normals.
- New fully resizeable larger
Model Tree Window.
- New efficient data
structures allow repairing models with more triangles as well as faster
topology building.
- New 3DE file format to store
the full topology information and colors and textures for triangle models.
- New floating license system.
- Improved On-line Help.
